The cottage was in a picturesque area that allowed for easy access to the beautiful Peak District. the bed was comfortable, perfect for a good night's sleep after a day of exploring. One of the best aspects was the ability to do laundry, which was a luxury and made our stay all the more convenient.
Our experience during New Year's was marred by a fair in town that brought loud music. It would have been helpful to have known about this event in advance or have been warned about the potential noise disturbance.

I booked a short break at Hawkshead Cottage for my parents, and they absolutely loved it! The cottage is peaceful, comfortable, and filled with charming touches from the host. It's conveniently located for both hiking and driving into the countryside, and you can easily walk into town for shopping. The cottage is spotlessly clean and has a lovely garden to enjoy in the mornings and evenings. The fully equipped kitchen had everything we needed, and the welcome pack with wine and handmade chocolate was a sweet gesture. We can't wait to come back!

The cottage was very clean and well-equipped; we had everything we needed during our stay. The location was great, with plenty of nice pubs and cafes within walking distance. The nearby hiking route was also a plus, allowing us to enjoy some beautiful walks in the area.
One aspect that we didn't enjoy was the temperature in the bedroom. It was quite warm and despite our efforts, we couldn't cool it down, which made it a bit uncomfortable to sleep.
